Re: Incredible race by Simen Hegstad Krüger

This forum is so dead, we shouldn't discourage taking about the races. I guess putting spoiler in the header makes sense if you remember, but how hard is it to stay away from a forum that gets only a handful of posts per day? I'm all for staying away if you haven't seen a race yet. It would be great...

Re: Seefeld: striding on the flats to the finish?

You mean Planica? There was only freestyle at Seefeld. The hill in the video below has a mix. Most skiers are striding, but the faster skiers like Klæbo double pole. If there is not a mix of techniques, and everyone is striding, then maybe you saw a technique zone, where skiers must stride or herrin...

Re: older Fischer waxable skis, Weston MA

I got some almost unused Fischer RCS classic skis with Profil bindings at a ski swap last year. They actually didn't sell at the swap, even though they were priced at only $35. I only saw them because I wandered in at the end of the swap to see if my own skis had sold. They are a perfect flex for me...

Re: good kickwax for wet 34deg young humid snow?

It snowed 2-3" last night and it was 34 degrees today. I verified my recommendation of VR70, and it was perfect. I was skiing ungroomed multiuse trails, mostly packed by fat bikes and foot, some packed by skis, some untouched, all over a base of ice, as well as some woods bashing around.

Same here in AK. I've never paid a trail fee in my life, but have been a member of the local ski club.

Re: Exel Straps

I ran regular loop straps in the vertical slot of a kind of similar Excel grip, though the vertical slot was separate from the horizontal slots above. Loop straps should be available in any ski shop. Hopefully you still have the existing wedges for locking the strap in. Here's what the Swix "Bi...

Re: Changing straps on Swix poles

As many times as you want. If you can't get them out bare-fingered, use pliers to pry or pull them out. They won't wear enough to matter because even if they did wear down, for all practical purposes, the wedges will still retain the straps just as well. The knubs prevent the loss of the wedge only ...

This is kind of related, at least to some of the training tools mentioned earlier. It was too long and boring for me to read all the way through.

I wouldn't apply klister trailside unless you have a torch. You won't be able to spread it smoothly on the ski and will be tempted to put too much on to fill the gaps between your dabs that you can't smooth together. Before you get to that point, you might also have to squeeze the tube so hard that ...

Re: why is the klister zone shorter?

Do what works for your skis. It really depends on the (vertical) shape of the wax pocket on your skis and how it transistions into the glide zones. I don't wax any shorter with klister and it doesn't drag - I think klister is faster than wax. I think its often advised to apply klister as thin as pos...

North America and Canada
The members may be from anywhere (all parts of the globe). Just as long as they showed up for the events.

They wouldn't work in the same factory? Does the name fit?
