Re: better format for WC racing?

it's not well enough at all. i haven't noticed any PR being done with Jessie and Kikkan's first-ever gold. also xc and xc racing aren't growing in the us in any reasonable way. JFT's silly mockery is pointless. i'm suggesting a mtbike type broad-based democratic counterpoint to the monochromatic ro...

Re: US Biathlon Article in Seattle Times

They use Bauer Grinds and I'm pretty sure that is what they are refering to.

Lowell Bailey is the Director of Crosscut in Bozeman MT and they are quickly building a very large biathlon program there.

Re: Turnamic bindings opening during World Champ race!

I've had no issues from any athletes with the locking bindings but to each their own.

Re: Birkie Waxing

Yeah it was all about the skis. I really think you could use just about any powder and have great skis. Pioneer used HF21 with 77 powder over the top. In the warmer snow it was much faster to forgo graphite. Only use that for super cold snow in the midwest. Take it out of your lineup and replace it ...

Re: Birkie Waxing

There is no debate about it. Skis and structure are more important than wax.

Long contact zones were not ideal with the higher moisture content in the snow. Finer linear structure was running best.

Re: Birkie Waxing

Toko Jetstream Red should I have been fine. I was running comparable powder for skiers. I would have gone colder for your paraffin. It was more likely that the structure you pressed in was not good, finer structure was better, and that you had the run skis. Everyone talks about what wax was working ...

Re: Turnamic bindings opening during World Champ race!

There is a locking version of the binding on the World Cup that will be available next year at retail. I don't know why an athlete would ski without it...

Re: Birkie Waxing

Skin skis would be a nice easy out :-)

Zeros will probably be good.

For kick you could use Start Oslo Violet, a uni klister. We'll see

Re: Birkie Waxing

I've changed my mind. The weather is looking much warmer Friday and Saturday now.

I'm thinking Violet base layer for sure and a mid temp fluoro like FC8, SFR30 or FHF 5, TK 247 or 77.

Re: Birkie Waxing

Huge piston bully driving over the course and tilling deep into the snow should mix the snow together and the cold snow beneath will absolutely cool the snow down. Also I have heard that they have been plowing the trail as well. It's not going to ski like upper 20s snow for the elite/1st wavers unti...

Re: Birkie Waxing

I would agree that I think it should be easy.

Base paraffin is going to probably be blue for early wavers, maybe a harder violet, violet for late wavers.

Powder is any "Mid range" product.
