Re: Best easy glide for zero deg F ???

You most definitely are supposed to scrape it off. Unscraped would be terrible.

Re: Best easy glide for zero deg F ???

I have several of the Vauhti liquid waxes as well as the Rex liquids.

In really cold temps, 0F and below, the Vauhti Green liquid is not as good as a hard paraffin like Start Green in longer distances.

Re: WC coming to MNPLS in 2020!

It will be a stop in between the Eastern Canada races and Canmore. It's not ideal but it's the first nordic World Cup Race in the USA since 2000. If things go well and it can be sustainable it sounds like they would have more race dates in 2022 and 2024

Re: Add to my quiver?

Talk to you JN coach. They can tell you better what you need.

Easy answer is you need a cold snow skate ski. Long contact zones with a finer grind.

BTW, the Colorado JN squads use zeros a lot so having a pair would be a good idea.

Re: DIY skin skis?

What kind of skin ski were they? Unless it's a removable skin like the one Madshus sells they are absolutely recessed into the base and if you just stuck one to the top of a ski base it will come off and you will be out $40-60.

Re: Elite racers and their gear

I typed this on my phone... meant race not rave...

I think shorter length skis just have too short of contact zones to be fast enough on the world cup.

I was talking skate skis not classic btw.

Re: Elite racers and their gear

My experience is that most elite athletes choose to rave on longer boards if possible. Keep in mind that they are skiing race room skis made just for them, not the production skis that the Rossi chart is referring to. For Rossi rave room skis there are 4 lengths: 181, 187, 189 and 193. The 181 and 1...

Except the results aren't really different. The results wouldn't be much different if they zeroed the wax. Besides ski selection and structure being equally if not more important than waxing

Re: Importance of the "right" Wax During Olympics!

Eh...For sure a large budget and staff is important but I think Norway is winning because it's also a national sport that draws more interest, athletes, etc. Does that put other nationals at a disadvantage on tricky days, sure. That being said at Sochi the Norwegians allegedly had ---- skis so maybe...
