Re: Elite racers and their gear

I typed this on my phone... meant race not rave...

I think shorter length skis just have too short of contact zones to be fast enough on the world cup.

I was talking skate skis not classic btw.

Re: Elite racers and their gear

My experience is that most elite athletes choose to rave on longer boards if possible. Keep in mind that they are skiing race room skis made just for them, not the production skis that the Rossi chart is referring to. For Rossi rave room skis there are 4 lengths: 181, 187, 189 and 193. The 181 and 1...

Except the results aren't really different. The results wouldn't be much different if they zeroed the wax. Besides ski selection and structure being equally if not more important than waxing

Re: Importance of the "right" Wax During Olympics!

Eh...For sure a large budget and staff is important but I think Norway is winning because it's also a national sport that draws more interest, athletes, etc. Does that put other nationals at a disadvantage on tricky days, sure. That being said at Sochi the Norwegians allegedly had ---- skis so maybe...

Re: Visma Ski Classics: Toblach-Cortina

I think elite skiers could Double Pole the Birkie just fine. Not sure it would be faster, the second half isn't that hilly so I think that section there would be an advantage. The Noque has been double poled, last year the skier who finished second dp skied it. He also double poled the Seeley Classi...

Re: what's up w US men?

Simi Hamilton has been in three podium since then in sprinting. Very few men step in a distance podium, ours incredibly difficult. A number of athletes have been top 30 in WC. Erik Bjornsen has been the most competitive in distance with many top 20 results and some top 15.

Re: cheap chinese knockoffs? ...poles?

I can't say for certain the pole shaft is what one way uses/used but those are for sure the grip, strap and basket that they used to put on their poles.

Re: cheap chinese knockoffs? ...poles?

Looks like the same components that One Way uses. Probably the same factory.

Question: Can these be called cheap Chinese knock offs when all the ski poles are made in China to begin with?
