Video of the trickiest most intense race course?

anyone have a link to a race video -- or even just a skiing video -- showing the most intense and trickiest course they've seen? doesn't have to be famous or recent. ideally a video showing awesome ski-handling action! considering how amazing and hard so many top shelf courses are, finding a ton of ...

Re: there are technique zones in Seefeld?

But I saw a bunch of color coded blocks and flags at different points. Made me think they might be technique zones.

Re: Too old to start skating?

Really, "all skiing is one." It's the same! The skate body position and even the action is the same as classic. You kick down the same but the legs go to the sides. So you're good to go! Watch a bunch of how-to videos. Take a class. Read a book. (...Mine! "New Wave Nordic.") It's...

there are technique zones in Seefeld?

Are there technique zones in the World Champs in Seefeld? How are they indicated? I'm seeing a bunch of different objects placed along the course and wonder if there's a code...

Re: How to prevent DP from taking over Classic?

roadie haters gonna hate ...you could even omit grooming and let people pre-ski the course in the days/hours before and find their best lines for a given width of possible allowed terrain. There's be a variety of tracks that get skied in and which change during a race :? I'd even leave a lot of fall...

Re: How to prevent DP from taking over Classic?

On our local favorite trail, the Poto, I can't see WC skiers doublepoling more than we locals would. They couldn't doublepole the climbs. They twist too much and have sizable level changes. It's a singletrack mtbike trails. It's wonderful for skiing and requires skill on the downs and ups. There's q...

Re: Nordic spoof and training videos...

That "hate norway" video is totally lame. Embarrassing. But the others are good! There are some hilarious ones out there. Like the Ikea racers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH-zVXN8OMg Klaebo sumo is pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaQCdqD5rYA Cross country snowboarding --...

impact protection in xc skiing? ...wrist guards?

Is it possible to use some sort of wrist guard in XC skiing? ...Our wrists have to move, after all. But it might be nice to avoid lower forearm fractures from high speed falls in firm conditions...

How to prevent DP from taking over Classic?

Has anyone been noticing the extensive ongoing discussion on various blogs about how to keep classic going? It seems like there are various tendencies. One of the big trends now is DP specializing, with DP skis. I think the Visma Ski Classics ppl are defending DP against haters. They're saying that ...

afib and "the mtbike of skiing"?

I wonder if Afibbers might benefit from exploring different aspects of the sport, such as ski-handling and the singletrack mtbike-type side of XC. You still go all out at times but there's much more of a problem-solving undercurrent, plus precision flow. Rather than pure steady blasting. The roadie ...

Re: a time when Petter won before the finish...

xc needs something really new to spark it up.

...probably it needs to discover the mtbiking side of its personality. singletrack. technical. scenic. more common. etc etc
