Chequamegon Fat Tire Fest and Lance Armstrong

Anyone racing the Fat tire fest this weekend? This will be my 20th consecutive year.

Word on the street is Armstrong will be racing Saturday.

Race Report and Superfly race review

Sunday was my first taste of MTB racing since having back surgery 5 months ago. Wasnt sure how the body would hold up or if I should sign up for one of the shorter races. My training hasnt been what I would like since I had over done it early the spring and decided to back off on riding a bit. But, ...

Cloxxki, The first thing I noticed is all manufacterers are putting the wrong gearing on 29ers. The traditional 44/32/22 is not for 29ers. I was thinking of running a 2x9 with a 38/26 on front and a 11/32 on rear. What do you think of that setup? Also the days of 3x9 are dead, IMO. I wish there were...

Got a 29er

I've been intrigued by the big wheels for a while now. I like having a hardtail but dont like the abuse of riding one. Was hoping a 29er would allow me to return to a hardtail without vibrating every vertebrae loose. We after a 30 mile trail ride, I am impressed. 29ers give much better bump complian...

Not sprint and not winter

[rant] This weather is for the birds. Its too cold to bike but not enough snow to ski. Pretty much sitting in limbo. It snows everyday, but not enough to ski or do anything else. Either be warm or be winter [/end rant]

ChrisM, Mik and I went for a 50 miler on Saturday. Skiing when its 35F is great, but biking when its 35F sucks. Oh, throw in a 20mph wind too. That was a tough 50 miles.

Anyone still skiiing yet?

We still have plenty of snow in the woods, with more on the way this week, but I have put the skis away. My first bike race is 1 week away

Anyone still running the boards yet?

Skate or Kick?

Whats your preferred method of ski locomotion?

For me skating, but this year I kicked about once a week on average.

Groomers are doing a fantastic job keeping the trails in excellent shape. Trails have been groomed on a daily basis and despite the warm temps, the conditions are great.

Easter morning ski

The first time I've ever skied on Easter. Nearly perfect conditions, but some icy spots starting for form. However, I think I am calling it a season and putting the skis away. We've had 5 solid months of skiing this winter and never had to use rock skis once. That has to be a record. Going to...

How do you make those tracks appear when you take a picture? They always seem so washed out when I take pictures. It was very cloudy that day. Usually if its a sunny day you can easily get overexposure and it washes out the detail. On sunny days use a ISO of 100 and a high frame speed such as 1000....
