Re: classic faster than skate for some climbing?

Always found classic was faster up steep hills if waxed perfect and the track is good. Grade just prior to having to herring bone.

Re: Road rage against rollerskiers

I stopped using roads years ago. Rail trail with large air filled tires or parks now with hard wheels. We are not vehicles and if you get cracked legally you should not be on the road. Sorry just the hard facts.

Re: Rollerskis and Dogs Don't Mix!

One good thing Ontario has done is make it real hard to own a pitt bull. Lots of regulations and extra cost, and a muzzle is required when in public.

Hardly a attack. Looks like the squirrel ran across the track got all confused turned back and ran up what it thought was a tree.

Re: End of our season!

Yes we are getting a dump of about 10 inches of white gold also. After a month of next to no snow with a weekly roller ski I am looking forward to the skiing. I just have to wait for someone else to groom it for a change. I will bushwack until that happens.

Plain and simple should not be in the event. That junk can ruin a legit racers race.

Start eating more and packing on the pounds that will make them grip the snow.

Re: boot lifetime

I just bought new skate boots. My bumble bee pilot boots are now after 15 years my new roller ski boots.Still good with one zipper a little funky. Only ever used them on snow and very little walking around in parking lots. I do about 60 percent classic and 40 percent skate.

Re: Where do you rollerski?

I do have a question for you folks. Is it worthwhile getting a ratcheting front wheel to practice classic? With the Skikes I have, which work great, you are skating only. Any thoughts? Thanks. Pat Ya the ratchet systems will not give you actual snow like conditions. Way to positive grip. Just work ...

Re: Home test for skate ski flex?

Pull the bindings off. There is no glue or tape on Pilot bindings. Chances are the rate is under there. At your weight you would need the stiff rate.

Re: Profil Boot heel binding contact off

What Blah said. The metal bar is probably twisted and not level with the sole bottom. I crashed hard on a new pair and twisted the bar. Solution turned on the stove and heated it up and twisted it back close to level. Still not perfect but usable.
