Magnus Johansson wrote:UserC, is the balance point of the skis 35 mm behind the center of the front screw hole?

Appears to be (without getting a tape measure out), roughly between the front and rears holes for the toe piece.

Right... I'm going to mount them tomorrow (once I've bought some wood glue)... fingers crossed!

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

It's not long sticker covering whole binding area.

Peeled it back. It is just a hole. Nothing inside it.

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

Edit: Salomon just replied and said that you should use glue!! Mystery solved!! Did Salomon say how? Haha... no, don't be silly  that would be far too helpful. I assume either break the plastic sticker, or remove the plastic sticker. If using glue, I can't see there would be any harm in removi...

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

I've contacted a few dealers to ask their advice. - Salomon themselves don't reply. - A few dealers don't seem to know (or don't want to help). - One very helpful shop, told me that they have not been using glue and that they have had no problems. - One shop (that stocks Salomon nordic skis) told me...

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

When I worked in a ski shop we always used a wood glue to seal up the screws as extra insurance that water would not penetrate the holes and cause rust on the screws. On the pre-drilled holes, is the covering on top just the skin of the graphics? Maybe puncturing the skin will open up the hole and ...

I don't think so either. Though I can't find anyone who actually seems to know for sure.

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

So it is hard to tell, as the holes are covered over, so I can't see inside. No instructions with bindings. It says on the ski "just screw" and it is hard to see how you'd put glue in as hole is sealed over until you screw into it.

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

Hey There,

I haven't got my hands on them yet. They were delivered to family in the UK, I get hold of them next week when I visit, so I'll let you know when I get there :D

Re: Skating binding systems NNN vs SNS

I've just bought some new Classic gear, and I went for Salomon prolink rather than SNS, as I think it's better to have the flexibility to use all bindings/skis/boots rather than being locked into one system. When I need new skate gear I'll get Prolink too.

Re: Rottefella's insoles

They are probably better than what comes in the boot, but there is no where near enough support in those footbeds for my feet. I have custom footbeds in my boots (XC, telemark & alpine) as I have a very high arch, without them I'm in agony after 1 hour skating. I'd think the pro's have custom fo...

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

I ordered everything direct from Amer Sports (Salomon), the bindings unfortunately won't come mounted (that would be far too easy ;) ) Got the Equipe RC skin, Prolink pro classic binding & Vitane lab boot. I would have prefered the RC carbon boot, but unfortunately Salomon don't do a vitane wome...

Re: Predrilled Atomic and Salomon skis

I have just ordered myself some Salomon Classic Prolink kit... woo! With the pre-drilled holes, I feel like I should be able to mount the bindings myself, but could do with a little guidance. If anyone is mounting the new pre-drilled Salomon skis, and could post a video of the process, that would be...

Re: Salomon Prolink

Today I was informed by Amer Sports (owner of both Salomon and Atomic) that the court ruled in favour of the Prolink binding system. I will hopefully have the opportunity to write an article with more detailed information about it on my website at http://rollerskis.wordpress.com. Thanks for the inf...
