Re: Blink 2018

The women's race was over by minute 2. Johaug jumped to the lead right away and nobody could follow.

I noticed Heidi Weng was absent. Good for her - she was the classic example of peaking too early evidenced by a terrible Olympics and 2nd half of the WC season. She over-raced.

Classic Rollerskis that can Handle Variety of Surfaces?

I do like the stability and ruggedness of my Jenex Aero's but I have two main issues with them. (1) they frequently have tracking issues (that might be true for all rollerskis), and (2), they're too short and I don't feel like I can lean forward enough on them. I have the 150SC that Jenex later retr...

Re: Tracking Issue on Jenex RC150

Jenex has a thing to adjust one axis of the front wheel, see picture: https://i.imgur.com/bRUyWtF.jpg Basically loosen the screw and push the little tab to move the wheel. Of course to align it to the rear a tool like Magnus has suggested would be the best, but you could at least sort the worst of ...

Tracking Issue on Jenex RC150

I notice I'm constantly stepping right to correct my rollerskis wanting to track left. Is there an adjustment to fix this? Should I rotate the tires? Also, I'm considering a new set of rollerskis and was wondering the best binding/boot set-up to minimize "ski drop" where the ski/rollerski ...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Today I did my "marathon" workout on a hot, humid DC summer day. Workout details: Rollerski (DP) 21K. During the out-and-back rollerski, I'll distribute water over the course for the run portion of the workout. Transition - rollerski equipment comes off, running shoes go on. Trail run 21K ...

Re: Skierg with Rollerskis?

Dave -- is your Skierg wall mounted or do yo use the platform? Interested in your technique of using the slide board booties. I have a portable plastic slide board and may try to figure that technique out for the DP kick. Thanks. Pat I use the concept 2 stand. I don't need to have the slideboard un...

Re: Skierg with Rollerskis?

Another option (which I've done) is to wear slideboard booties while using the skierg. They can be a bit slippery for DPing but you can get a fairly realistic kick-double pole going while wearing them. I'll skierg to a 50K classic race on YouTube and just do the same technique I'm watching. If they...

Re: Johaug is back

Its amazing to me what great runners these nordic skiers are! 33:36 is a great 10k time! I agree. I wonder what Therese could do in a 10 000 m track race. She could run for most D1 college XC teams in the U.S. What does D1 mean here? D1 = division 1 = largest universities and the best competition f...

Re: Skierg with Rollerskis?

I'm also interested in this thread - if anyone sets up a platform to do this please post photos here.

Side note, I think you'd need to crank the resistance up to 8-10 - otherwise you'd fall flat on your face!

Re: Alpina Racing Roller Ski Boots

From what I can tell - Alpina's new R-series (RCL, RSK, RCO) is their new entry level line. I think they replace the older S-line (grey/silver). The prices look good. Alpina's racing series (ESC, ECL) has been available for a few seasons - I don't see any changes for 2018. However, Fischer has a new...

Re: FIS shortens 4 x 10 km relay to 4 x 7.5 km

I would like to see the order flip every over Olympics, for example, in 2022 the order would be FS, FS, CL, CL.

Why can't classic skiers bring home the gold? This would be even more exciting because I think teams with strong classic skiers can bridge back even larger gaps.

Re: World's most eager skier?

When most of us see a smoke stack emitting a cloud, we immediately think about all the dirty carbon being released into the environment. I was thinking this until I stared doing my know research on climate issues about 2-years ago. The reality is what we are seeing is just water vapor, carbon is co...
