Re: FIS shortens 4 x 10 km relay to 4 x 7.5 km

I would like to see the order flip every over Olympics, for example, in 2022 the order would be FS, FS, CL, CL.

Why can't classic skiers bring home the gold? This would be even more exciting because I think teams with strong classic skiers can bridge back even larger gaps.

Re: World's most eager skier?

When most of us see a smoke stack emitting a cloud, we immediately think about all the dirty carbon being released into the environment. I was thinking this until I stared doing my know research on climate issues about 2-years ago. The reality is what we are seeing is just water vapor, carbon is co...

Re: World's most eager skier?

It's simple actually. What role does government play in controlling solar activity or ocean current cycles? I don't know, but it is rather scary to see a clear blue sky transform into a milky haze by air plane exhaustions. This has happened many times here. The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Clima...

Re: World's most eager skier?

Its great to see this guy at it again this season! The climate fraudsters are telling us that snow is a thing of the past. The Nordic ski industry has a massive campaign called "Save our Winters." However, the ski season is still open at a few New England resorts - we're talking about ski...

Re: How to promote rollerskiing?

when I visited the page, one of the first thing I saw was a picture of girl with massive scrape up her whole side That is impressive! I've had about 3 accidents rollerskiing, all painful. I normally wear a helmet and elbow pads as I once landed very heavily on my elbows and chest. I used to do a lo...

Re: Bonking in the cold

There were a lot of DNFs at today's (cold, wet and windy) Boston Marathon. Yes, but this year's DNF rate of 4.5% isn't all that different from last year's 3.0% rate. I think the the DNFs got more press coverage this year because of the horrifyingly unpleasant weather. More statistics: this year's D...

Bonking in the cold

There were a lot of DNFs at today's (cold, wet and windy) Boston Marathon. In my 30 years of endurance training I've experienced my fair share of bonks and nothing is quite as bad as bonking when its cold & wet outside. I've never bonked on skis but I've bonked during a long, cold bike ride and ...

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

I guess this is why the IOC would not allow Anton Shipulin to compete. I just wonder what is known about Ustiugov? Of course FIS and IBU are two separate organizations but still, maybe someone knows something that is not out in the open (yet)?

Re: How to promote rollerskiing?

I think universal brakes and a design where the wheels are low maintenance but can roll over anything without being hazardous. I like the Jenex RC models but hate pumping up the tires. Something with a big & wide wheel diameter but not pneumatic. Keep the overall design light.

What a great season for Jessica, and Sadie has a great weekend! I feel bad for Weng - clear over racing syndrome but at least she earned a nice constellation prize as 2017-18 World Cup Champion!

Re: Your best explanation of XC skiing?

I think XC skiing is foreign to most Americans because what percentage of Americans live in an area when you have 60-days (just 2-months) of consistent snow cover. Probably less than 2%. How many are within 1-hour drive? Maybe 5%. This is why introducing rollerskiing as a gateway to on snow XC skii...
