about the athleticism... i'd like to know about the basic stats for skiers. how do they do in biking, running, calisthenics? i suppose those are separate sports... but i'd like to see how WC skiers do with the NENSA or Canadian Fitness test w pull-ups, push-ups, dips, box jumps, etc. ...maybe their...

I've read that Bill Gates believes to be truly "world class" at anything you need to be fulling engaged in the sport/topic/field of choice between the ages of 11-17.

While watching the last stage of the Tour de Ski (uphill stage), I noticed they were only going 6 KPH on the steep sections. I'd think running with climbing skins would be faster?

Not a great start for the US east coast; however, those in the southern rocky mountains (New Mexico and Northern AZ) are having an epic season!

Here in the mid-Atlantic its been mild and rainy and so far remains me of the 97/98 winter.

If its a calm day go with the longer poles, if its windy then you might want to go with the shorter poles, i.e., anticipating more striding.

I'll miss the excitement he always brought to an event. Although I never cared for this post race antics. Especially the hockey-style stops right after the finish line, i.e...blocking other athletes path (I would have plowed into him!). He'll always be remembered for the 2010 games in Vancouver and ...
