That is very clever of you, Ralph. The Alpina product depicted is essentially a galosh. It is still under development and I think it should be lower cut. The first prototype I saw had no zipper.

Re: TURNAMIC - Rossignol And Fischer Partner To Create New Binding System

After looking at Skinörd's pictures of the Turnamic bindings it seems they are not compatible with NIS; Skinörd mentions that also. Will Fischer and Rossignol make their own mounting plate for the Turnamic binding and abandon NIS? Yes Tough times await Rottefella with most if not all the Fischer an...

Re: Ski camber vs. rollerski flex

I assume the main benefit of the rollersk flex would be a more comfortable ride on rough surfaces. I also assume that during the kick phase the rollerski flexes and absorbs some of the power of the kick. I wonder is this is a desirable or undesirable feature? If the ski does not release the energy ...

Raubie, please get back with a review, also regarding their classic technique performance.

Re: Combi vs Classic Boot

Hey thanks for the comments and advice. Yeah most of my skiing in Southeast Pennsylvania is on grassy fields -- assuming I find snow... Usually just lay in my own tracks and do the back and forth to get the workout in. I only get to a true Nordic Center about once a year. I am going to do the Winon...

I lean it against a tree and lock the rear wheel. It is a rather unattractive bike so it hasn't been stolen yet.

Neuro wrote:Separate biking lanes and dedicated rollerski courses I believe you said in the other thread? Good asphalt all round?

That is what I generally prefer but not what I have outside my door. However, a very nicely packed dirt road in dry weather is best, but that is rare.

Yes, I can and often do. Otherwise I usually take the bike with my roller skis and poles some kilometers to an appropriate starting place.

Re: Combi vs Classic Boot

Classic skiers actually have a choice of 3 types of boots to choose from. There's the Classic boot, Combi boot and a Pursuit (or Skiathlon) boot. The pursuit boots are lighter and have a more rigid upper. They will skate better than a combi boot. I prefer to classic ski in a pursuit boot. I have us...
