Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Got answer that they do indeed let people test skis for a couple of days which is great, so i might do that. Btw, how did you know about this? I read on their website about their arranging demo events with free testing, but I didn't know that they would borrow you roller skis for your private testi...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yeah I just got back from using them. It seems to me that after a few double pole pushes to get going on a relatively flat surface, that I make a slow right hand turn -- well before going 10meters or so. OK, I think you should try to align the wheels with something like Neuro suggested. Siriro has ...

Pat, have you had the opportunity to test how much your roller skis fail in tracking?

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Thanks for the tip, I've sent them a mail if it's possible to demo the skis. You're welcome. I believe they have special official events with roller ski demos in the same way e.g. Alewalds has here in Sweden, but maybe they can arrange something just for you. I would especially recommend you to tes...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yes the Jenex forks look to be thinner, but as the Woodskis already have tracking issues I would guess it's because of this design. Although not a specialist and limited selection, Oslo Sportslager is the best shop in town, but never heard they have skis to try unfortunately. I would likely have to...

Re: Ski binding without Pozidriv?!

I was a little melodramatic, but there actually is an international standard for binding screws: https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:std:iso:7794:ed-3:v1:en

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Same type of forks I'm having tracking issues with on Jenex V2s. Are not your forks thinner than those on Woodski Skate? According to rollerski tests I've read (and even snow skis), tracking is really a big part of what separates the good from the bad, and those that do well here typically have thi...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Woodski is the manufacturer -- seem to be nice quality, light weight, and have a functional brake and slow wheels. Interesting. Is it Woodski's current skate model with aluminum forks? http://www.woodrollerski.com/shop/skate-skis/ Birch is a very good shaft material, even solid and unlaminated, lik...

Ski binding without Pozidriv?!

I have not discovered this until now, but Fischer did something dreadful with its Turnamic Skiroller (as they insist calling it) binding: they included Torx screws instead of the unquestionable Pozidriv! What heresy! Fischer has no tradition making bindings, and it shows!

You are welcome, Pat, as always. What brand and model did you buy? Have you checked their tracking on a flat road?

I think this ski boot looks both ugly and uncomfortable, almost like a shoe of a medieval armour.

Re: Classic Rollerskis that can Handle Variety of Surfaces?

I do like the stability and ruggedness of my Jenex Aero's but I have two main issues with them. (1) they frequently have tracking issues (that might be true for all rollerskis), and (2), they're too short and I don't feel like I can lean forward enough on them. I have the 150SC that Jenex later ret...

Re: Tracking Issue on Jenex RC150

Sorry, what I meant is that moving the bindings back 3” might cause bigger problems than having the back wheel dropping a little. That depends on how far in front of the balance point the bindings are. Dave is tall and I presume his feet are not very small. In any case, with a new pair of roller sk...

Re: Tracking Issue on Jenex RC150

Loosen front and rear axles, clamp both wheels between two straight boards, then tighten axles and wheels will be parallel = go straight. This is how the Siriro device work. As for balance point, you push off from ball of foot in center of ski, so the binding pivot point will always be a few inches...

Re: Tracking Issue on Jenex RC150

I notice I'm constantly stepping right to correct my rollerskis wanting to track left. Is there an adjustment to fix this? Should I rotate the tires? Siriro has the following device for straight wheel mounting: http://www.siriro-shop.de/zubehoer-rollski/verschiedenes/einstellvorrichtung.htm Also, I...
