Ha, ha, ha! That seems like a desperate move by Swix.

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

This whole thread doesn't seem to match anything I've read. I find it interesting that people believe a conspiracy theory, that has no evidence, rather than well reasoned account that has witnesses and evidence. Jay So, what have you read, Jay, and what conspiracy theory is believed here? Neither N...

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

Well, it's guilt by the correct association, isn't it? It is still guilt by association. If the overall Russian process was crooked then the overall Russian program should be banned. Not only the Russian program but Russia as a whole is what the Jews are going for. They are not really interested in...

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

Russia was exposed for huge problems so maybe it will be banned from the Olys. OFFHAND RESPONSE--This seems reasonable. No. Just like you, Jeff, say later on, this is based on guilt by association and should be deemed unreasonable. Also, each nation manages its own doping control. OFFHAND RESPONSE-...

Re: Turnamic binding for NIS

It's great that the manufacturers offers interchangeability like this, but about the Turnamic itself I can't help to think the knob is just to fasten and release the binding, when in the new Rottefella it moves the whole binding. Yes, it is interesting with all this innovation concerning bindings. ...

Re: Skin skis taking over?

This is effectively the same. The question might as well be "Don't you still have to work to make the glide parts of the ski work well?" No, it is not the same. Waxing and scraping are different methods. They can be combined, but they are still different methods. Of course they are physic...

Re: Skin skis taking over?

Don't you still need glid wax for the rest of the ski though? If you are not an elite racer I don't think glide wax is necessary. The glide one can achieve with base scraping and structuring is enough for almost everyone. This is effectively the same. The question might as well be "Don't you s...

Re: PSA: Save 40% on ThoraxTrainer through Kickstarter

A bit OT, but the article made a bold claim that would be nice to get confirmed: "Nordic cross-country skiing is considered one of the most physically challenging sports because it activates more muscles than any other sport in the world." I believe wrestling to use even more muscles. Her...

Re: 1000 cheating Russians

Now it seems IOC is going for a ban of Russia at the Olympic Games 2018 instead of presenting proof that the banned individual Russian skiers really have violated the rules. IOC claims to have found a huge database that confirms Russian state sponsored doping and now wants to force Russia to admit i...

Re: Early winter here in NW Montana....BUT!

Hey, Jeff! My experience is that classic style cross-country skiing is actually harder on the back than skate skiing. Maybe that depends on the back problems in question. However, I agree with Dave that Nordic walking and even light pole running is very good for the back.
