The common notion is actually the opposite, i.e. that having the ratchet on the front wheel helps prevent late kick.

Re: Rottefella Move System

After having watched the Vimeo videos by Rottefella, it looked like the Move System for integrated NIS plates (NIS 1.0) was the hardest to operate; the binding seemed to glide better on both RMP and IFP.

Re: Rottefella Move System

Yes, see at the bottom of the page here: https://www.rottefella.com/move-system The different Switch Kits: https://www.rottefella.com/bindings-accessories/bindings-for-cross-country/move OK, thanks! However, from what I have seen now, one can't use anything else than a Rottefella NIS 2.0 binding to...

Re: Rottefella Move System

Yes, with the 'Switch Kit', one can use different plates like for NIS 1, Salomon, Atomic, Fischer etc. Really? SNS, Prolink and IFP bindings don't even fit NIS 1. How will it be done? Funny like you say with two knobs to turn, but I think I saw somewhere that Turnamic is anyway going to copy the mo...

Re: Rottefella Move System

With newer I meant NIS 2 yes. I asked Skistart.com today, and they said any NIS binding is compatible with the Move system. That would include also the NIS compatible Rossignol Turnamic IRB. With the latter, one would have two knobs per ski to turn. Better turn the right one when shifting binding p...

Neuro wrote:(This lets you use most newer bindings with it)

Rottefella said earlier that only NIS 2.0 bindings would work with the Move System. Is it really so that any NIS binding works?

Re: NN-75 specifications

I have just discovered yet another NN binding version. It is an Edsbyn Comet Medium from the 1970's that is 78 mm wide and features what I believe to be the unusual screw hole pattern 28-45 (width-length) with the pin line 25 mm in front of the rear screws.

The Move System's binding plate, NIS 2.0, together with the binding Rottefella Performance Classic cost 156 $ at www.xxl.se.

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Got answer that they do indeed let people test skis for a couple of days which is great, so i might do that. Btw, how did you know about this? I read on their website about their arranging demo events with free testing, but I didn't know that they would borrow you roller skis for your private testi...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yeah I just got back from using them. It seems to me that after a few double pole pushes to get going on a relatively flat surface, that I make a slow right hand turn -- well before going 10meters or so. OK, I think you should try to align the wheels with something like Neuro suggested. Siriro has ...

Pat, have you had the opportunity to test how much your roller skis fail in tracking?

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Thanks for the tip, I've sent them a mail if it's possible to demo the skis. You're welcome. I believe they have special official events with roller ski demos in the same way e.g. Alewalds has here in Sweden, but maybe they can arrange something just for you. I would especially recommend you to tes...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yes the Jenex forks look to be thinner, but as the Woodskis already have tracking issues I would guess it's because of this design. Although not a specialist and limited selection, Oslo Sportslager is the best shop in town, but never heard they have skis to try unfortunately. I would likely have to...

Re: Ski binding without Pozidriv?!

I was a little melodramatic, but there actually is an international standard for binding screws: https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:std:iso:7794:ed-3:v1:en
