Re: Cross country skiing after the resorts have closed

Nice compilation.

Always curious what it would be like to ski in shorts.

Didn't know the forum could be messed up after updates needing specialists to sort it. Lucky you knew a guru that could.

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Interesting article. The 'cool factor' is surely a thing.

But still think safety concerns is another. I've seen too many ads with skis being sold after having been used only one or twice where they surely got cold feet after a scare or two which happens for beginners.

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I guess maybe people find it a bit dangerous or too difficult to learn.

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Another rollerski season here, I've been out once on my Jenex Aeros (winter gravel was late to be removed).

Plan is to try classical rollerskiing for the first time this season. There's a shop that lends out skis. I will also try some top skate skis as I'm a bit tired of my old bent ones.

You?

Did you ever walk out of the cinema in the middle of a film?

Where you simply couldn't take it anymore? I've done it twice. After about 10 minutes into an atrocity called 'Walker', and another one I can't even remember the name of now about some bank heist in UK. I wish I'd done it more. One thing I regret suffering through was xXx. I was on a date and didn't...

Re: CLASSIC ROLLER SKIS WITH SLOW WHEELS

If you just want to stride all day and not do much double poling, why not?

Some like JfSki prefers this and even put speed reducers front and back to make sure it's striding all the way: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=5103

Weekend trip to Mount Everest?

Just join the queue..

Image

41 groups totalling 378 climbers have permission to scale the world highest mountain during the climbing season which is April and May.

7 of them died just last week.

(Great photo though)

Re: Innovations in today's rollerskis?

Looks very neat as all other brakes are not good when it's wet out, but these will only work on their own skis and they might be heavy, not sure.

A shop not far will let people try them out, so hopefully I can do that this season.

Re: Crossover roller blading, roller skiing and skating

Sorry to hear about your arm. I too had quite a twist when my rollerski pole got jammed between two planks on a boardwalk and the arm was properly sore for months and I was worried it would never be ok, but when I finally stopped nursing it and spanked it in the gym with heavier weights it recovered...

Re: Reducing camber

Had the skis tightly clamped for exactly a month, and boiinng!! ..back to same measurement, it's crazy. I will leave them clamped until next season start now but no surprise if they remain unchanged. There might be difference height vs pressure so I should probably measure with a piece of paper unde...

Yeah that was fun. Impressive time too. Never got to see much of his final skistyle though.
