Re: Double Poling Question

That's interesting, but don't know if the long stride is recommended from a performance point of view as I hear in World Cup how most have changed style to a more shorter stride, and only Russians and some others sticking with the traditional longer stride. Of course the Russians are just as fast so...

Re: Ole-Einar Bjørndalen retires at 44

Yes, another example of the super cool sportsmanship of Domracheva. Her gliding skating style maybe the nicest yet seen in women's skiing anywhere. Agree about the uncharacteristic and uncalled for grumpyness by Wierer here who is always so friendly, but pundits on TV says she is always complaining ...

Nice attitude. Second to last is also a place to fight for.

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Very cool, well done. Are you doing active biathlon or just for fun?

Re: Ole-Einar Bjørndalen retires at 44

Such a shame, but understandable. A wonderful person. Her sporting move last year of giving Hinz her pole which she broke even if it meant compromising her own race and these things are common, was just an example of the sportsman she was. A nice summary of her career here: http://www.biathlonworld....

Road rage against rollerskiers

There is a known case where French biathlete Simon Fourcade was driven off the road on purpose while training in France and got hurt, but it's happened to veteran XC skier Anders Aukland and I'm sure others as well. Aukland actually had to take off his ski and use as a weapon as the driver came out ...

Expect her to smash them all up Lysebotn. Climbing always was her thing, being light.

Re: Ole-Einar Bjørndalen retires at 44

Sure the young wife had something to do with, but maybe more that he was running her life and even business (she has a clothes line) as I understood it. With a new kid as well it could have been the stress factor to give several spells pre-season, but then he's had symptoms for years now. About micr...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Middle of June and I haven't been out for a single run yet! It's due to many factors, but mostly the winter season was so amazing and I skied so much that I don't have the hunger to ski at the moment, the other is that May was the warmest month on record here (30 C regularly). You? Any new equipment...

Summer training at Sognefjell https://i.imgur.com/ndQKfH8.jpg She got beat in a summer rollerskiing event (Oslo Ski Show) by Haga and Østberg, but these things depends on training cycle etc. What's interesting is that she says being out for 2 years and she can tell her snow skis are not good enough ...

For the sake of tradition maybe, but if the argument for shortening was to get more countries in the mix, that can only mean more excitement?

Re: Uphills

Agree it seems harder on wheels, but generally is this endless climbing useful for anything? It sure isn't fun, and too hard training will take long to recover?
