Re: Traditional ski making in Norway

My father just saw the video and said when he was young his ski was almost exactly the same as in the video with the carved tip and even with the etched stripes, but maybe not surprising as he came from Telemark not far from Morgedal and this was in the 40s and 50s and hand-me-downs so probably a mu...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yes but the tool will also align the wheels in the vertical axis as well, although any misalignment there probably doesn't affect the ski as much.

Re: American Birkie 2018

Good technique and nice place to practice there although I did see at least one nasty hole in the asphalt.

I take it everything is still fine after the procedure or are you still holding back?

Re: Rottefella Move System

Rottefella replied to my inquiry that the electric binding has not been dropped, but just not sure when will be out.

Re: A weekend with Marie Dorin

It's not bad at all the little I can see of it. I don't have any style to be able to give advice, but noticed becoming much freer after I started wearing protective gear like knee and elbow pads so maybe something to consider. If I was a beginner again, I would even use hip protection and helmet wit...

Re: Rottefella Move System

The Move binding is now in shelves here in Oslo for around $180.

Sadly it looks like Rottefella has pulled the electric binding idea..

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Thanks for the tip, I've sent them a mail if it's possible to demo the skis. You're welcome. I believe they have special official events with roller ski demos in the same way e.g. Alewalds has here in Sweden, but maybe they can arrange something just for you. I would especially recommend you to tes...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

To align the skis, the best I've seen so far is something like this from Rundle Sports : https://i.imgur.com/nIOg9PJ.jpg They are sold out but I suppose it's possible to make something similar oneself. Best alignment solution is probably something using lasers, but not sure how that would work.

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

I've already been at their free roller ski course which was great so I guess lending out skis is not that far of a stretch, I just never thought about it. Yes, definitely the IDT skate is on the short list together with the Swenor. With the new type brake that attaches to the boot these skis are now...

Re: la Feclaz rollerski track, French Bauges

That track looks superb with enough but not too much elevation and corners. Tracks like these are coming up regularly here in Norway too, but the one I'm closest too is the Holmenkollen race track here in Oslo but it's not nice since it's a World cup course meaning just steep ups and downs which is ...

Not sure if you're serious as the torx screw is IMO such a great invention. The screwdriver is rock solid on those and never jumps off.

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yes the Jenex forks look to be thinner, but as the Woodskis already have tracking issues I would guess it's because of this design. The only test highlighting tracking I can find now is this, but I've seen it in others too: http://skisport.no/utstyr-tester/rulleski-for-alle/ Although not a specialis...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Same type of forks I'm having tracking issues with on Jenex V2s. Seems they bend easily when the fork is basically flat and without much resistance to sideways movement. Not bend by much, but a little is enough for the tracking to go off. I'm convinced the best is a U-profile type fork which gives s...
