Re: Cleaning and Maintenance of SkinTec Skis?

Had to smile going in to the shop today and see Swix has a blue, red and purple (cold, warm, zero) impregnation for skins. Then there's of course the skin care, skin cleaner, and skin cleaner pro products. Of course there might be marginal gains to be had with the differing waxes, but no way I'm goi...

Re: Kuzmin scraping and structure

Had the exact same idea with being new to prepping and going with scraping instead of waxing. (don't forget the brushes).

The Alate grip is completely new to me but looks very interesting. Keep us posted. (Maybe a separate thread?)

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

FIS (International Ski Federation) anti-doping expert, doctor Rasmus Damsgaard says he's concerned about the lack of proof for latest group of Russians to be punished. He says his organization have tested the athletes in question hundreds of times over many years and nothing has been found. He even ...

Very nice event and Sovereign Lake looks a top spot with interesting and undulating track.

Have you done this kind of guiding of the visually impaired before?

Re: Russian doping? -- (try again, on topic)

It's approaching a travesty. There should be no problem for anyone to sort out a fair reaction to hard evidence, but the lack of both is more than baffling. About general doping control, the Johannes Durr case from Austria showed how bad the whole program is. I mean the guy passed 14 tests and his d...

Re: Skin skis taking over?

I believe it's as much to do with brushing as well. Just a few strokes of brushing should help keep the glide of a scraped ski, so the scraping need not be done that often, I think I saw somewhere just a couple of times a season was enough.

Re: Turnamic binding for NIS

It's great that the manufacturers offers interchangeability like this, but about the Turnamic itself I can't help to think the knob is just to fasten and release the binding, when in the new Rottefella it moves the whole binding.

Re: 1000 cheating Russians

Martin Sundby during his press conference before the season opener at Beitostølen now, says he really wants proof of the doping in the latest athletes' cases as he can see none and finds the whole thing strange. He says it's more difficult to understand in Legkov's case as he even wanted out of the ...

Re: PSA: Save 40% on ThoraxTrainer through Kickstarter

Interesting machine, never seen that before.

A bit OT, but the article made a bold claim that would be nice to get confirmed:

"Nordic cross-country skiing is considered one of the most physically challenging sports because it activates more muscles than any other sport in the world."

Re: 1000 cheating Russians

Wow, what a left field, presumptuous and prejudicial post. I meant my post as a compliment to the nordics, but it did not work, so I take it back and start over: the nordic confined, self-congratulatory and satiated existence (see "hygge") stripped you of critical thinking ability, and le...

I know, although they had all the answers to the car already with 750 hp and aero as good as it gets, so maybe the tires were on that level too.

80 year old car speed record finally broken

The Koenigsegg car just beat the flying 1000 meters at an average speed at 445,54 kph (276.9 mph), but the staggering part is the record from 1938 that stood so long: Mercedes-Benz W125 Rekordwagen (750 bhp) of 432.7 km/h (268 mph), driven by Rudolf Caracciola. That speed in 1938 with a 'normal' eng...
