Re: How's the season going?

Someone in my area are selling a used set of Jenex V2 Aero XL for $65 including speed reducers, brake, extra wheel and pump. Looks like a good deal, but are they any good and would I really use them when I have normal V2s? https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=106799008 https://i.imgur.co...

Re: Is V2 necessarily more difficult?

V2 (double skate) Not only me who intuitively thinks V2 is double skate or two skate, but it is actually single skate.. But interesting points. Do you have any tricks to work on the balance other than what JeffOYB has said? I heard that second top dog in biathlon, Shipulin, uses a surprising...

Re: Do all top rollerski racers also race on snow?

This is for skating. Instead of ending the push with the whole foot lifting as one, it's extended where the toes do the final push. Coaches I've heard, say either one is just as good on snow as there is anyway a certain 'washout' when the grip is lost on snow, but perhaps on rollerski with top grip,...

Re: Do all top rollerski racers also race on snow?

Same here. Interestingly, there are also snow skiers who excel at rollerski, and from what I can see, there's a lot do with their extreme toe push-off.

Ah Ok, I thought two skate was a push with each stride.

Re: Is V2 necessarily more difficult?

With V1 and offset Just to make things clear: V1 and Offset are the same thing. See http://crosscountryskitechnique.com/international-guide-to-skate-skiing-nomenclature Argh, I always get confused with these names. But here it says V2 alternate? Is this thread about V2 or V2 alternate? But I think ...

Re: Is V2 necessarily more difficult?

Yeah for me it's definitely the most difficult. I could pretty much do V1 and offset straight away, but still not 100% with V2. It's the balance aspect of it that needs familiarization. With V1 and offset, it's basically just 'wagging' and the weight is (comfortingly) always coming back to the other...

Re: Rottefella Move System

Reading more about Rottefella Move system, it seems any old binding can be used, so then the cost can't really be that prohibitive. One still needs the new NIS 2.0 plate, an 'insert', and the Move switch itself: https://www.rottefella.no/rottefella-move-system-en/ I'm very tempted to go for this. Li...

Re: Skin ski, what to get?

Well all the holes should help with the flex.. ;) Yeah I'm expecting a stiff price for the move binding upon launch. I might wait till next season for the price to come down, but then again, I could think that the extra cost of having the moveable binding compared to a normal binding might be the sa...

Re: Skin ski, what to get?

Just ordered Salomon Equipe RC Skin 2016/2017, was a good offer on and the shop has a good reputation to pick correct skis. The ski also comes out good in tests, see above. https://i.imgur.com/kDqEj8Wh.png Like the Atomics, this ski also has two skins to choose from (the yellow and black), but unlik...

Re: How's the season going?

Good idea although there's no guarantee the planks are perfectly straight, but it won't give a satisfactory result in my case as the forks are bent in all axis so even if I managed to bend them to a certain alignment, the ski might still be off in relation to the wheel axis. I also believe the forks...

Re: Kuzmin scraping and structure

FWIW, I have the universal Kuzmin scraper, and although glide was good, I changed to a pair with manual structure and the glide was noticeably better (skate ski). This was exactly the same type of ski and similarly used as well (had to change due to weight loss as old skis too stiff). But really lov...
