Re: Replacing bindings on Rollerskis?

Is it difficult to replace the bindings on rollerskis? Mine came pre-installed so I have no idea if any drilling was required. What does "Slide on" mean? I guess (from memory) there is a plastic plate fixed to the frame and the binding slides onto this but I think there must still be bolts holding ...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I gave in and ordered a set but it's taking forever to arrive with poor ordering system etc, so this doesn't bode well if there are any warranty issues. Notice FF also has a dedicated wet wheel for skate skis. According to TV pundits, the newer rollerski wheels are miles ahead of what they were jus...

Wow that's pretty radical, should clear the water better in the rain :-)
Just read the website and they give that as a selling point

2000 krona, that's not a bad price but the wheels are quite expensive.

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Last weekend - well the 23rd - I entered a rollerski race, the Montee de Semnoz (it's a Tour de France) climb above Lake Annecy. Pretty tough and well.... I wasn't last !

I thought the consensus was that High Intensity Training was actually bad for you causing micro scars on the heart wall which disrupts electrical impulses used to contract the heart muscle?

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

FF said they didn't have ratchet wheel for skating but that the classic is designed for skating and I should try that instead, so had the last outing before handing them back to the shop and turns out they skate quite well! ah so it's a combo wheel, hence the shape. The local rollerski area (at Cor...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Classic vs skating. Well I only started classic for fitness - going up hills and stuff but now I quite enjoy it. I've done quite a bit on tarmac but not much on snow - my ski club only do skating with adult groups for some reason. If I had one set of skis I guess I'd go classic because I'd get more ...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

It is true that when it gets steep (like 7%> for me) I find skating very tiring and prefer classic with a ratchet. I can't see why your idea won't work as "we" often do double push exercises on skate rollerskis but I don't have enough experience to say whether it is a good idea, I guess you would ha...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Wow that's pretty radical, should clear the water better in the rain :-) Went out last night on my classic skis but trying to up the pace a little bit (about 4m/km as opposed to 3m/km on skating, so not that fast) and am absolutely wacked out today. It has been pretty hot the last few days as well s...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I would never ski down anything more than a gentle slope, so I take a rucksack with trainers. The Alpino climb has two downhills but my classic skis don't roll very fast so I didn't get up too much speed, just a few kp/h :-) The other climb is all uphill, steep in some places but good on classic ski...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I didn't find the rollerski classic "round" wheels too bad to use - I guess they do that so you can turn? I did a couple of climbs at the end of August in Italy on my classic skis. Once up to Alpino above Lago di Maggiore - the people on the cable car down were quite excited to see a skier - the Ger...
