Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Wow that's pretty radical, should clear the water better in the rain :-) Went out last night on my classic skis but trying to up the pace a little bit (about 4m/km as opposed to 3m/km on skating, so not that fast) and am absolutely wacked out today. It has been pretty hot the last few days as well s...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I would never ski down anything more than a gentle slope, so I take a rucksack with trainers. The Alpino climb has two downhills but my classic skis don't roll very fast so I didn't get up too much speed, just a few kp/h :-) The other climb is all uphill, steep in some places but good on classic ski...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

I didn't find the rollerski classic "round" wheels too bad to use - I guess they do that so you can turn? I did a couple of climbs at the end of August in Italy on my classic skis. Once up to Alpino above Lago di Maggiore - the people on the cable car down were quite excited to see a skier - the Ger...

Alliansloppet Action Week

Alliansloppet Action Week in Sweden, they've been showing events live on YouTube, which is a good idea.

50 km at Holmenkollen 1959: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=th19O8I7v1Y Winning time was 3:18:46 Quite fun to see. Notice the 'home made' single track through bumpy woods. Not too much snow either. The old style double poling bending the upper body almost 90° is unique for the era. Also how they sor...

Re: Blink 2019 - Lysebotn Opp - Races

To answer my own question Johaug would have been 18th in the Men's race, about 10% off the winning time. Of course if she were in a group she may have come higher but I can't see her winning. Musgrave, Kruger and Johaug are all in the same ballpark though.

Re: Blink 2019 - Lysebotn Opp - Races

Impressive double poling by Musgrave. He deliberately got rid of a lot of muscle mass and it's working well, but how many times do we see 'summer stars' fade come the winter. Therese Johaug is so much in a class of her own on uphills like this that pundits are seriously suggesting she should join t...

Apparently there was a double poling only race for the first time. Anyone have a video link for those races?
there was, I saw a bit of footage, I'll see what I can do

Re: SUMMER BIATHLON

Hah yes, Doro and friends (San Filipo and Nicole isn't it?), what an idea. Rumours that Jessie Diggins may be in the next installment although the team are busy with the French version of Blink Festival in Annecy at the start of September.

I'm yet to be convinced by brakes - I just don't ski anywhere with big slopes though. You should post a video of them.

Re: SUMMER BIATHLON

the secret is not to run at 100% or you won't be able to shoot,
although as you are in America maybe you get M16s to shoot with, like Simon Fourcade
