Most of the racing was posted to YT in the end. French skater Justine Braisaz broke the skandi domination in the Ladies Biathlon Supersprint

Re: Uphills

Ok advice from Martin Fourcade is to climb using double poling only (both with skate or classic skis) to build upper body strength. He reckons this will pay off in the winter as most non pro / competition level skiers lack arm and upper body strength. I guess the idea to to start in rolling terrain ...

Re: Wassup?

Rollerskiing and road cycling for me. It is now insanely hot, although compared to normal about the same for the time of year. Learned to T-stop on rollerskis (with old wheels) for what it is worth. Used to be able to do this ok on rollerblades but I now find Rollerblades to be very high and wonder ...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

No I'm just doing it for a bit of fun to find out more about the sport. I thought about doing some citizen's races here but everyone in the area who races is very sporty and while I don't mind coming last, I'd be worried about finishing a long time behind other skiers. I looked at the Foulee Blanche...

Re: Ole-Einar Bjørndalen retires at 44

Such a shame, but understandable. A wonderful person. Her sporting move last year of giving Hinz her pole which she broke even if it meant compromising her own race and these things are common, was just an example of the sportsman she was. A nice summary of her career here: http://www.biathlonworld...

Re: any cool new nordic ski movie out there?

If not already posted, nice one from the French Team at Antholz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F98o-C7c8M0 I've been there; This road is groomed once a week or so and goes up to a pass to Austria and a small resort there. (There's no border anymore... Think about Wolrd War One, and its millions k...

Re: Ole-Einar Bjørndalen retires at 44

Darya Domracheva has retired as well, he said she "couldn't find a good balance between family life and skiing". She was taking her daughter on the circuit with her but that obviously didn't work out even with Ole-Einar's help. https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2018/06/25/darya-domracheva-ret...

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Here is the softair biathlon target I'm working on. This was just a test that a softair sniper (under 2 joules power) could tip the target at 5 meters. I will now have to build 4 more targets. You can get a softair sniper for around $100 USD and they are quite accurate so could be good for training....

Re: Anyone rollerskiing yet?

Wow how cool to have a course with them! What's your take on the Nordeex skis? Reason for change? I have very little knowledge about rollerskiing but I had a pair of Powerslides before, in comparison the Nordeex are much lower to the ground and there are fewer vibrations. The fork for the wheels is...
