This will be my third season on grip tape and o the whole it has served me well, in most cases exceeding expectations as the miracle "cover-all" grip wax. However, there have beena couple of occassions I have come unstuck... quite literally. The first time was on my very first outing on wa...

Thanks for the info... much appreciated. Hope all the ice storm damage is sorted soon at Windblown and the area up and running. I'll wait until nearer the time before I make a choice but I do like the sound of the quainter resort.

XC Skiing in NH

Well... a lot can happen in a year and since I last posted on this forum I got myself a new girlfriend in NH (I live in the UK and ski in Europe). I'm hoping to move to the US late in 2009 but until I do I'll been paying frequent visits. My next trip is around the end of Feb. and I thought it would ...

XC Skiing in the USA - Where and When?

Being located in the UK I normally do all my skiing in Europe. I was just wondering about visiting the USA for a bit of XC action. What are the popular places to XC ski and how long is the season...?

START Grip Tape and Glide Wipes

What's the general opinion on this "wonder wax" combination? The Grip Tape seems like a godsend if it lives up to it's multi-condition and multi temp claims. It's not like I'm racing so total optimal performance is not really important. Last season I didn't even do a proper wax job on my n...

The skis in question are Atomic Race Classic Hard 201cm. Any know how the atomics run? I bought a pair of these (wax) last season. Mine are 205ish and I'm in excess of 250lb. Worked a treat as you can vary the wax pocket to suit your weight. The only real downside for recreational skiiers on waxles...

If you're of average build then you can go by height. Ideally thought, it's the weight that is more critical, especially with non-wax skis. I'm over 250lb and need a stiff ski. I chose a waxed ski as I can customise the grip/kick zone when classicing. Even though the first skis I tried were around 2...

Salomon Bindings - Info Req'd

I recently ordered a set of Salomon Profil Active bindings to replace the ones I broke last season, only when they arrived the company had sent Profil Equipe Skate bindings by mistake. I've examined them from top to bottom and the only difference I can find (besides the colour) is the rubber bung wh...
