We're pretty proud here to have our first Swiss xc-ski Olympic gold medal winner with Dario Cologna on 15km. Looking forward to see him in the 50km race, though I think he's a bit too young yet for that distance. His time will come here too.

Yes, I always carry a water bottle with me and it has always been useful, during xc-skiing and/or after it.

Langenbruck

Found this little 6km track with 1.5 nightski track not far from me, it's in Langenbruck, exactly in Baerenwil. About 45 min. from Bern, 30 min. from Solothurn. It is only on 800m so to have snow there is a bit of a hit and miss...! but the track is very nice with some pretty hard climbs and tricky ...

oh, it can be the soft ski problem anyway, if the skis are old or heavily used. cross skis age too...!

Sorry, I disagree. Skate boots won't do you well on classic skis. They're too stiff, not only on soles.

For sure we could wear helmets while running or playing soccer too. Sometimes we have to take a small risk.

Why should one need a helmet for cross skiing? for roller skiing, sure, but for x-skiing? don't see any real necessity...

The small run in Adelboden is quite easy for a beginner. Even the bigger one should be no problem. Enjoy!

one easy question to answer: waxless! unless you want to spend hours waxing your ski again and again.

season's start

Season here has started last week with the 6 mile track open in Adelboden. It was great to be on snow again!!!! The second day though was damn hard, it rained and the snow was pretty heavy and gone on some places. But I enjoyed it nevertheless! I wish you all a good start in this year's x-ski season!
