Re: How to prevent DP from taking over Classic?

...you could even omit grooming and let people pre-ski the course in the days/hours before and find their best lines for a given width of possible allowed terrain. There's be a variety of tracks that get skied in and which change during a race :? I'd even leave a lot of fallen logs as they were. Sk...

Start by writing it right (there's a hyphen in the name). Then the pronunciation is pretty clear.

Re: better format for WC racing?

Yes! Less "train tracks-style" courses and more train the mind and skills. Action for the fans, with moves they can try at home. Even "cat-like" at times. Who knows, even CAT skis might be best sometimes. Not ride-and-glide, but real challenges like real life. Traverses. Hockey s...

Re: better format for WC racing?

all i can think of is it works for cyclocross. ...i'd have to say the course would need to be really technical. not necessarily having big climbs or descents. it's good to lead in CX. it's also very reasonable to move up. they do world cup events in city parks with CX. don't need very special terra...

Re: Trail design: is XC keeping up w the times?

Three places I ski have worked on their trails quite a bit - widening them to make them better for skating and racing, and/or and making them smoother so they are skiable with less snow. A fourth place in my area is new, and has some very wide, high speed banked sweeping turns, which is a pretty new...

Re: Are "no DP" zones really affecting races?

The modern groomed racing course stands out as an obvious "road bike" equivalent to our mtbike-type ski trails. I've been trying to make this comparison for about 10 yrs without getting any wider traction but it's the biggest reality in our ski region. Very strange. Very strange that peop...

Re: How to promote rollerskiing?

seeing all those sweet videos of European pro rollerski racing Question: does anyone know if these videos show the skiers using "pro" : elbow pads, knee and hip pads, plus full face helmets (I know you don't use those but neuro suggests them). To show how safe the sport can be. Anyone know?
