Re: Incredible race by Simen Hegstad Krüger

Do you think you own this forum? He made no such claim. All he did was to make a polite request, to avoid posting spoilers if you can , with which any reasonable person would have been happy to agree. If he had made such a claim my question would have been: Why do you think you own this forum? The ...

Re: Incredible race by Simen Hegstad Krüger

I'm not sure if this thread title is a spoiler, as it doesn't actually say the result.

That said, please, asking to not put info that could give away results in the title of thread is a very reasonable request.

Re: What is a good ski gloves for touring down to 10°F?

I just looked at a Swix gloves online and noticed that it comes in three sizes small medium and large. That doesn't seem like enough sizes to be a very good glove. Once again you start a thread with false info: Swix makes gloves in at least eight sizes - from what they call 4 (marketed towards yout...

Re: the latest in cold prevention?

The new thing has been to take paracetamol and C-vitamin pills Paracetamol is called acetaminophen in the U.S., and is even better known by the brand name Tylenol. Yes thanks, here in Norway it's the most common painkilling/fever reducing medicine. What would be the US equivalent? Aspirin? Acetamin...

Re: Too Cold to Ski?

If I have already travelled, and have the right clothes, around -5F in fairly still conditions. I won't travel far for below 0F skiing anymore. I've done races - Keskinada, in another country - that started a little below 0F and finished a little above. One good thing about that was that it made 10F...

Re: Is your stride equal on both legs?

From a skating perspective, my ability is not the same on both sides, and for me I don't think that's due to one leg being stronger, but rather my balance being better on one side.

Re: What made you start XC skiing?

I started skiing in college on my college's ski team. We had a good team (competitive in Division II in the northeast US at the time - a few years after I graduated it went to Division I). The team was very small, so they were open to someone with no skiing experience but some fitness joining the te...

Re: Terms when teaching skating...

It's hilarious that our V2 is V1 in other countries. What's really funny is that we've seen a set of widely used terms with "dance" in them in this thread (in Norway: paddle dance, double dance, single dance) and yet you are still suggesting a different dance word that suits your fancy. A...
