Light

I just picked up a Princeton Tec APEX for skiing. Rated for 200 Lumens, plenty bright enough for skiing.

Skate boot soles are way to stiff with no flex for Classic Skiing.

Birkie

I moved up to Wave 4 on my own..............If they had gotten their head out of their butt I would have most likely made wave 3.............. It's tough to move up in the Birkie unless you are a rocket... With being stuck behind people on the hills I'm sure I would have been faster.

March 7th.......... 1st ride outside

Got in my first ride outside today, a nice easy 28 miles.. R to NN to O to B to Burma to KK ........... It felt great to ride. I'm ready for spring.......... Time to clean the XC skis and cover them with storage wax. I always find it hard to ski again after my first ride............

Wax

I agree with Steve M. We spend all kinds of time and money on things related to XC Skiing, and Biking and any other silent sport we do. To not use some high end wax in an event like the Birkie or what ever event we work towards each year is crazy. At the Birkie last week I went with the Full Toko wa...

Birkie wave seeding

LKM.................. Don't be such a negative person about whether the Birkie will take place. There is plenty of snow for it to be held.
When I left Hayward Saturday afternoon it had already dropped from 40 to 32. The temps are dropping starting today and some snow is in the forcast.

Birkie office and wave seeding policy

I'm a Birchlegger and skied the Pre-Birkie this past weekend. Was looking to get a wave bump since I'm skiing better this year. Called the Birkie office this morning and was informed the following - If you have skied the Birkie at all in the past they will only use a Birkie time for wave placement. ...
