Re: Plough braking on rollerskis

Still not convinced it's possible to do on skate skis.. I wouldn't even dare to try.

List of rollerski producers

Magnus is keeping a list here, and I'm updating one on the Norwegian rollerski wikipedia entry here.

Should probably do one on the English Wikipedia page too.

Re: Hjul Ski

Made in China, but the Faster Skier test is quite complimentary.

FF Rollerskis

https://www.ffskis.com/
New producer of rollerskis with some innovative ideas like the 'floating fork (fork 'vulcanized' to the frame (I guess glued on with some sort of rubber-like compound)) for damping, and the 'V-track' classic wheels for better stability. From Norway.

Re: Online movie : Kampen om Tungtvannet

Like you say a truly unique documentary in that it's the real people and not actors (except the leader Joachim Ronneberg who didn't want to take part). How come you know about this old classic? This story is of course known to all here, but for me, the part that has stuck in the mind since I was you...

Norway outlaws fluoride products from junior competition (<16 yr olds)

For reasons of health and environment but also to eliminate the class difference between the haves and have-nots since these products are typically very pricey. It's done even though it's virtually impossible to check if fluoride is used. A good step IMO. XC is already too costly as it is, and effec...

Re: Rottefella Electric

Since there are no mention of the Electric on Rottefella's site any more, I sent them a mail to see if the binding was dropped, but they replied it was not, but could not say when it will be out. My guess is that since their Move System is just being rolled out they are just hiding it so anyone (lik...

Re: Rottefella Move System

Yes, with the 'Switch Kit', one can use different plates like for NIS 1, Salomon, Atomic, Fischer etc.

Funny like you say with two knobs to turn, but I think I saw somewhere that Turnamic is anyway going to copy the move system where their knob does more than just open and close the binding like now.

Re: Rottefella Move System

Yes, just the bindingplate with the mover alone is around $100. (This lets you use most newer bindings with it)

Re: Traditional ski making in Norway

My father just saw the video and said when he was young his ski was almost exactly the same as in the video with the carved tip and even with the etched stripes, but maybe not surprising as he came from Telemark not far from Morgedal and this was in the 40s and 50s and hand-me-downs so probably a mu...

Re: Classic vs Skate Roller Ski Tracking

Yes but the tool will also align the wheels in the vertical axis as well, although any misalignment there probably doesn't affect the ski as much.

Re: American Birkie 2018

Good technique and nice place to practice there although I did see at least one nasty hole in the asphalt.

I take it everything is still fine after the procedure or are you still holding back?

Re: Rottefella Move System

Rottefella replied to my inquiry that the electric binding has not been dropped, but just not sure when will be out.
