Knickers?

:love4:

(Seriously, it's nice to see some developed technique not oriented towards racing. Can't wait to try this stuff!)

There's a lot of limits you bump into when trying to host big events in sparsely populated areas. Manpower and support infrastructure are big ones. Sometimes, there just aren't the resources to accommodate extra racers, no matter how much they're willing to pay.

EMERGENCY NOQUE WAX QUESTION!!!1!

Crap, I went to the pre-Noque waxing seminar, downloaded the Toko wax tip, and can't believe I overlooked the most important thing. ----, ----, ----! Can anyone help me out here? This is really important. What kind of beer am I supposed to drink while waxing my skis tonight? I mean, usually I'm a st...

I know a DFL is nothing to sneeze at, especially given my competition (lots of MTU nordic folks and other fast people). Still, it kinda sucks not having people to race against. I had a great cyclocross season this year because we had a good turn out and there were consistently 5 or 6 people at my le...

I don't think they'd complain if you really wanted to use your car- the performance school requires it anyway. I liked using their cars though- they have switches for enabling traction control, abs and what not- very eye opening. And if you can learn to kick the tail of a buick park avenue out with ...

Snow tires, AWD, ABS, traction and stability control, all great fun and helpful and all, but unless you take the time to hone your skills, you'll just be in further over your head when you finally do lose it some day. I highly, highly recommend the MTU KRC Winter Driving School: http://mtukrc.org/sc...

Ah. Cyclocross.... How I love thee.... When it's finally fuckin' over. :D The entire bicycling season is just training for CX has far as I'm concerned. I love the races (technical riding! pack dynamics! crazy fast speed!), I love the bikes (It's not a CX bike, it's a touring/commuter/race/mountain b...

That's Telemark right? Telemark is just a way to make your skis turn using freeheel bindings. You can do it on most anything. It's great fun to go out on skate skis on the local blue and green runs to see what you can do. Of course, the steeper and faster things get, the beefier your gear needs to ...

It's not that we don't have much of a touring scene- lots of folks do it, it's that there's not much of an organized effort towards it. With plenty of places to rent gear, piles of serviceable used gear at the thrift shops, and more territory than you could fully explore in a lifetime- it's rather a...

Rossi Zynex- They're skate skis. Skate is stoopid. But I do it anyway. :D Fischer Country Crowns- I'm not really retrogrouch enough to appreciate a traditional length ski. They glide pretty well in the groomers, but I don't have enough boot/binding on them to do much more with them besides that. Fis...

They picked the wrong school. Sholulda come up here to MTU. :D

Sadly though, we have no real touring oriented club, everything up here gets kinda overshadowed by racing or pure downhill.
