Roller skis of the same brand and model are provided to all competitors by the arranger of the competition.

Re: Fun w new skis!

Still confused. That's a pic of front bumpers. It seems like you're saying that skate bindings have both front and rear bumpers. Yes, skate bindings have front and rear bumpers; classic bindings have only front bumpers. I always thought that skate and classic were the same except for stiffness of b...

Re: Importance of the "right" Wax During Olympics!

Let's be honest - maybe 6-8 countries have the waxing budgets to truly be competitive at this level. I think this is part of the reason why nordic skiing will always have a limited audience. A race should NOT be determined by the size of a countries waxing budget. It seems like classic skiing is ev...

Re: Fun w new skis!

But the Nordic Skate link shows a classic binding w rear bumper... Maybe I just need softer bumpers all around? Do you have a link to pic of a Rotte R4 classic w no rear bumper? Those with rear bumpers are for skating. Here are the ones for classic: http://www.nordicskaters.com/products/catalog/xc-...

Re: Incredible race by Simen Hegstad Krüger

The reasonable thing to do would have been to not visit this forum if it was suspected that so-called spoilers could appear. The problem with your suggestion is that spoilers would still appear if people use the "Unread posts" feature. Then they should not use that feature during the time...

Re: Fun w new skis!

One binding is mounted 1/3" different from the other. Both are quite in FRONT of the balance point so the skis are quite tail heavy. I've never had classic skis like that. I noticed them acting funny today when I reversed directions, lifting the skis and the tails drooped quickly. I suggest re...

Re: Fun w new skis!

Judging by the print on the skis it seems like the right ski has its binding further forward than the left ski. Have you checked the binding mounting, Jeff?

Re: Fun w new skis!

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, those are skate flexors or bumpers because they have the rear flexor part, the small part behind the catch.

Re: Spoiler Alert: Sprint Final

it seemed like several were running up and maybe also some women? maybe it relates to steepness and is a new formula. As a hill gets steeper maybe now they like to transition like this: DP > KDP > striding > running > herringbone I think it seems like Kläbo has replaced both striding and herringbon...

Re: Can u believe?!

That is really a pity, Jeff. I see you have a pair of Edsbyn Hunter! Is that an NNN BC binding on them? What brands are the other skis?

Interesting questions, Dave. I would also like to know what Johannes' setup is like.

Re: Fun w new skis!

They have new Rotte R4 bindings, screwed in. The bumpers are so stiff my toes were sore at the end. I compared to my old 1990 ski binders and the old ones flex easier. I hope these are skate bumpers and that I can find SOFTER ones. I googled and see that they're all black so color won't help. Can y...

Re: Incredible race by Simen Hegstad Krüger

He made no such claim. All he did was to make a polite request, to avoid posting spoilers if you can , with which any reasonable person would have been happy to agree. If he had made such a claim my question would have been: Why do you think you own this forum? The reasonable thing to do would have...

Re: Spoiler Alert! Women's Skiathlon

Prediction: She'll win the 10K pursuit and anchor the team for a gold...3 golds for Kalla! The 10 km freestyle with individual start is Kalla's favorite event and it does look very promising right now. The anchor leg for Sweden will be skied by Nilsson; Kalla will most likely ski the second leg, an...
