XC Ski Forum Founder Dedication at 9-mile

Postby rmattson » Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:48 pm

I don't believe this was ever posted here. For the newer members... the founder of this forum was Gregg Bednorski. You can find a number of posts by and about him within the threads and topics if you have interest. If you get a chance to visit the ski (or bike) trails at 9-mile in Wausau, WI stop and checkout a dedication put together by a few of of his friends and his family. It's a really nice piece and can be found in the rest shelter at the intersection of trails S and T.

On that note. There is also a nice piece at Winter Park in Minocqua, WI that was put up by a friend of his. You will see it as a white Fisher ski cut into a cross, attached to a large pine, and can be found on the Lake Marie Trail on the left hand side as you are going out. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here as I have only been there and seen it once.

Gregg's Wife donated the funds for the shelter construction and a few friends got the hand carved cedar sign from a place over in Minnesota and hung it up.

I am warmed to read that Gregg's still leaving his tracks on earth in this way.

Thanks to you for participating and sharing it here.
