Newbie Question

Post by Adam Johnson » Wed Jan 04, 2012 8:28 am

Hey folks. Total newbie question here. I picked up a pair of used Landsem Touring 65's that say that they are "waxless". I know that normal waxless skis have scale patterns on the bottom, but these had more of just a roughed up area through the kick zone. Are they going to work similar to the scaled bottom ones? Also, what glide wax would you recommend? Thanks!

Well, if they say waxless, then I guess that's what they are! :D

Try some simple paste glide wax that you just smear on the tips and tails.

Swix used to have F4 which I still put to good use on my Visu waxless skis. Its a general purpose, all temperature wax. Then I can just smear some of that junk on, boot up, and out I go.

Out of curiosity I checked into this, and I believe those skis have a mica grip section. Here's a short read about it.
