Test our beta product for free

Post by GlideNano » Thu May 02, 2019 10:43 am

Hello,

As you might have heard (or not), we want to replace toxic Fluor carbon in ski waxes by Green Super hydrophobic Nanotech.

First lab and field tests also showed a friction reduction of 40% and the wax lasted much longer.

Therefore we are looking for professional skiers, snowboarders, who want to do comparative testing.

As we know the season ended in Europe and the USA, we are looking for testers who go out on glaciers or go skiing to Chili, Japan, New-Zealand, …

For all other people, we do plan a third test round at the beginning of the 2019-2020 season.

So please subscribe at our website and be the first to test the ski wax of the next generation.

Thank you,

The Glide Nano Team

I was chosen to beta test Glide Nano. Don’t know if there are other testers here?

What I do like about these guys: they are really a spin-off from a University and put test results on their website, I have never seen another brand do this.

So I hope you will all support this start-up, they plan on launching a Crowdfunding Kickstarter.

Nice to know efforts are being put into non-fluoride products

Which university ?
Which results ? I can do nicer diagrams out of the blue myself.
Patent number ? Publications ?

Crowdfunding is heaven for crooks...

Nice read : https://www.gobankingrates.com/making-m ... -failures/

This one https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bimo ... bike-drive#/ is not yet listed but is an interesting one;
Nices vids, Best features ever seen (on paper). 3.5 years later, nothing but apologies and 1,6 M$ in the pockets of the project owners (located somewhere between Zurich, London and Dubai.

I love it when PhD's get involved with outdoor sports!

I love product tests that are made public and done to reproducible real-world standards.

Down with toxic and up with sustainable! Best wishes...

I'd love it too !

I just warn that crowdfunding is, most of the time, not purchasing something that exists.; It is investing into something that does not exist. Be careful to whom you're sending money.

It is good to be critical. And yes there is scam in crowdfunding, but honestly, I think some people love to be riped off. If they launch a drone at 1/5 of a DJI price, one might think this can't be right.

1. Arkansas University

3. Have a look at the website with all our test online: www.glidenano.com
4. The patent for the ski wax in pending, but you can look a the other patents of Surftec Engineering.

what's the point of posting questionable videos where you laugh at people getting hurt ?

https://www.facebook.com/glidenano/vide ... 539498610/

Not very good debut IMO.

(BTW, Janus self-organizing nanoparticules have already been seen here . Was Nanowax Cerax ; bought by holmenkol.
Seems to be their "SpeedFinish 2.0" by now. Holmenkol being linked to Nanogate Gmbh).

Loran,

I don't mind any discusssion.

But seriously?
First it was about which university, you making nicer diagrams (btw those are real tests, so we don't pimp them), ...
We answer in a nice and polite way.

The only remarks we get back from you, is that there is a questionable video?

Yes there are some Jerry of the day videos. Honestly they draw attention of thousands skiers.
If you publish an explainer one about patents, you get 10 viewers.
So a mix was made to combine those.

Next time we will post a video about self-organising (???) nanoparticles.

Sorry for looking aggressive.

The thing is that you debut doesn't look serious to me, that's why I'm challenging you.

To me, your claim "40% less friction and lasts 5x time longer" is at the same level that your very example above "..a drone at 1/5 of a DJI price.."

About your "100 % ecological" claim ; Something that is not toxic to humans does not means it is "100% ecological". PTFE does not seem toxic to humans, yet its mass production is not 100% ecological.

What works to draw attention of surfers might not work for cross-country skiers...

To draw attention of cross-country skiers, have your product used at the world-cup level. Technicians will put anything on the ski base even for a few milliseconds gain over a 15km race. As far as I know this is the area where waxing if taken the most seriously.

So, yes, you'll probably be challenged by other than me.

Cheers

We are at 35% funding at the first day. Thanks to nice people like you.

If you don’t to support us for the environment, just do it for yourself: you want to glide faster and longer.
Just admit it :-) It’s like a guilty pleasure, just like accelerating fast with an electrical car.

So let’s just give in to that and join the club:

OK,
This paper
http://scholarworks.uark.edu/cgi/viewco ... ontext=etd
gives us some clue.

Apparently there could be usage of Polydopamine as a "glue" and PTFE as the gliding component, + some fillers (Cu, Au) to improve wear resistance.

Interesting. (More interesting than stupid videos..)
Please confirm.

Nevertheless, this is always the same old story. People are desperate trying to make PTFE or other fluoro powder stick on the ski base with some kind of glue primer. An even more environmental friendly approach would be to make ski base directly with PTFE (its cross-linked flavor being more wear resistant) and get rid of those disposable "wax" .
