it snowed a couple days ago.

yesterday it got wet and packy. i tried VR50. no grip. then i tried some general toko wet wax and it gripped.

today it seems a bit cooler. where i was skiing the snow wasn't packy. but it is foggy. very humid. i tried Start Oslo Violet for grins. it kicked a bit. slipped some.

I went to another ski trail, better packed, and switched to my blizzard chemical zero's and they were great.

is there a known bomber kick for such conditions?

it seems like swix purple would slip. so maybe old swix red?

this doesn't seem like the classic impossible waxing condition. but maybe it's close? and zeroes just are an awesome easy solution?

32 degrees with falling snow is most difficult.

if hard wax isn't working at 34 degrees klister will work

Ski-Go HF Yellow. If there isn't too much new snow and/or the base is transformed, you can put down a klister binder (like Rode Special Violet or the equivalent), let it cool down outside, and then cover with the hardwax.

Or, if you want to roll the dice a little, you can put on a relatively thick layer of something like SG HF Yellow, throw some klister right on top of it (K22 Nero or Start Wide are pretty good options, as they tend to not ice much), and use a kick iron to mix them together. Then smooth them out with your thumb.

It snowed 2-3" last night and it was 34 degrees today. I verified my recommendation of VR70, and it was perfect. I was skiing ungroomed multiuse trails, mostly packed by fat bikes and foot, some packed by skis, some untouched, all over a base of ice, as well as some woods bashing around.
