Home commitments mean I can't travel far to ski, and while snow in the northeastern US has been average, that can mean very few possibilities with 90 minute of where I live. My "local" place - an hour away - just opened up for the second time this year.

Season over and besides some glorious days in the best winter for decades, a particularly fond memory of a trip coming to a café in the woods which is also a farm and I'm surprised by a small horse let loose that's going between the tables outside looking for snacks. A lovely meeting. :-)

after skiing in the Fresh snow on Monday the local cross country skiers fired up a Ratrac and did their own trail prep.
