Knee Surgery Recovery

Postby Don Callander » Fri Jan 22, 2016 12:05 pm

As I post this I am one week post lateral and medial meniscus tear arthroscopic surgery. I suspect my season is over before it really began. But with the reader audience here I thought I would post to see if anyone else has recovered quickly. The ACL showed some signs of strain but was intact and functional. I exclusively skate ski.

I was rollerskiing the day after an arthroscopic meniscotomy this fall.

I have just returned from a 5wk postop surgeon visit. Pain returned fairly quickly after surgery but following more examination that was/is coming from a torn calf muscle at its insertion point not actually from the joint itself. He is happy with the repair although I still have some swelling. He has given me the green light to ease into skiing; however as I write this I am viewing a significant down pouring rain thunderstorm! Since age is working against me I may take a cautious, deliberate return. Wow I miss this sport.
