Tell ya what's fun... Backyard biathlon!

Postby JeffOYB » Wed Feb 01, 2017 8:16 pm

We just had a lil party here tonight. Four of us had some fun skiing my yard trail on a technical 1/2 mile section.

Biathlon, beer, bbguns, boombox, bonfire.

Every lap we'd come in and take a swig then set to some shootin'. If we missed we had our penalty loops. Then out we went. Wearing headlamps in the dark. Nice tunes.

It's fun how we can hear each other's hits and misses when out on the course. A hit gives a good thwack on the popcan hanging by a string from a tree. A miss gives a good groan from the misser.

A lot of Xmas lights light up the whole scene.

Those who've done it rate it highly.

Something about coming into shooting with a high heart-rate.

Guns, even low-powered ones, and drinking?

No, thank you.

I presume it is non-alcoholic beer. Every other type of beer is compatible with neither shooting nor skiing.

these are bbguns! red ryders. couldn't even put an eye out!

also we weren't inebriated. one beer spread out during the event has no effect other than being a good idea for taste and fun. half a beer more like it.

and the bbguns are kept in one area pointed away.

sheesh. well, we are hillbillies.

Sounds like fun to me, but also a tad wary with firearms and alcholic games.. :bom:

But the biathlon idea is very good. I wish I had the opportunity to arrange something like that. Must surely give a good insight into what's required for the sport.

I don't consider BB gun a firearm. You can't hurt anyone with them, I've been shot at close range, they aren't a big deal. You guys are way too serious about this...

Yeah I wouldn't be too concerned with the BB guns -- now if you were throwing hand grenades that might be a different story......
