Action cameras

Do you use them? What's your experience?

I need to record my rollerskiing trips in case of a dog incident, and found a cheap and easy solution by stuffing my phone in an armband case and fastening that to the drinking belt:

The picture through the clear plastic is not ideal, a bit bumpy and the angles are sometimes a bit off, but works fine for the purpose. The drawback is that there is no keylock on the camera app so it could be switched off inadvertently. Best would probably be a proper reliable action camera on the helmet, but quite pricey for the fun, and would not like to land on my head with that on.. (I believe Michael Schumacher's injury was in reality the helmet cam)

As I've had all summer to think about this.

Get a cheap "dashcam" type camera that does loop recording.
Fit to helmet, maybe on the side.
Something like a Mobius would be ok, or a cylinder shaped cam or even the 808#16 keychain cam if you can secure it.

The keychain camera looks very interesting, thanks for the tip.
