Is there ANY solution that let's us ski when it's:
frozen dry ground < rain < 1" heavy snow < 4" light snow + 30degF.
No matter what I do or what skis I use, the wet snow underneath freezes on my skis and clumps up. Can't ski. I tried spraying w silicone and that worked best for a couple minutes but I think as soon as I hit actual wet snow it froze up.
I've tried wax, nowax, zero ...
It seems like skiing is at least a few hours away and requires processing. To make it skiable the quickest, it seems like I should compress or disturb the snow, let it chill, then ski.
If I let it stay untouched the thick new snow will insulate the wet underlayer and will take longer to get good. It might still be cool enough by tomorrow since it's supposed to drop to 22degF overnight.
Stuff that doesnt fit anywhere else.
