Knee pads/sleeves

Post by Larry » Sat Jul 04, 2015 4:07 pm

I've progressed quite a bit on roller skis but still prefer to wear knee protection. For hilly terrain where I know I'm going to hit downhills I use roller blade pads which are bulletproof but a little bulky. For flats where the speed is lower I still use cheapo fabric sleeves that might save me from a scratch but offer no real protection from a hard spill. The few times I've fallen, I either landed on my hands or on the side of my leg, so knee cap protection has not done much for me yet.

So, I'd like to find something that wouldn't be as bulky as my roller blade pads but would still provide some protection. Compression is not that important in and of itself, unless it helps the sleeve to stay put without riding up or down. Any ideas?

Keep the knee pads.
Sooner or later, you'll be glad you did. I've worn them for years, you will get used to them; what you don't get used to is a cracked patella.
