Magnus' rollerski construction

Postby Neuro » Thu Nov 17, 2016 12:58 pm

It appears that Magnus here makes his own rollerski, so would be more than interesting to hear more about it. Not often one gets to quiz a developer.. :)

I thought there was room for improvement. Wood is mother nature's own composite material and it let me choose a construction that otherwise would have been difficult to realize. Actually, I do not make any part myself. I let five different enterprises contribute with what they do best, and then I assemble the finished product.

So what improvements were you looking for, and did you find them? I really like the way it's lower than most.

Thanks for your interest, but I am still developing so I am not willing to disclose much detail of the ongoing work. The picture shows my second prototype. As you can see it is decidedly longer than most skate roller skis and although "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" is a great song this prototype became a little too low.

Can you say what are your thoughts with the longer ski?

Yes, better balance, direction stability and ski-likeness.

Makes sense, although I've never felt that my current skis are too short, but then I'm a rollerski novice.

Let us know if you have something else to share about the project.
