MN cool weather

Post by MN Hoser » Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:13 pm

After a series of warm winters, this fall is looking good. In the past decade, we've had such warm weather at this time of year (like 60F) that you wonder how long it would be before Trollhaugen could make snow or if we'd ever get natural snow. Warm Nov (60-70s), Dec (50s), and even into Jan.

This year, the cold weather (normal weather?) has made for good skiing out west and Trollhaugen (our local ski savior) has started making snow last weekend. In fact Ironwood had been grooming the lake effect snow, so skiing on snow seems like it'll be soon. I just got a call from a friend heading up north to ski.

No way!!

Still 2 weeks of cyclocross down here yet ... three, if you live in Illinois (although, last year at the WI State Champs you could have skied the course!.

Will probably get our first ice on local lakes and ponds tonight. :D

I'm up in Ironwood right now. Heading home today though. Skiing was good yesterday at ABR but slow and sticky.
