I skied today on part of the unplowed section of Vermont route 108 over Smugglers' Notch in the towns of Stowe and Cambridge. Conditions were fair to good. Last night's snow was wet and heavy, and compacted quickly to make for very fast conditions. This will freeze solid tonight, and form a base for a little more snow that is expected on Friday.
Not Vermont but getting some skiing in here in Philadelphia area with the storm that just came through -- mostly going back and forth over a small area but heck I'll take it. With any luck I'll find some left over on a north facing slope and do the same tomorrow.
I heard on the radio that parts of the New York area got about a foot of snow. Might be tough to ski through if it's not groomed, and they are predicted to get temperatures well above freezing for the weekend.Pat wrote:getting some skiing in here in Philadelphia area with the storm that just came through
I skied at Craftsbury the last couple of days. Conditions consistently very good. All trails open, including both lakes. (Looking at their Web site, a couple of trails at Highland Lodge are closed, but I'm talking about the Craftsbury side of things.)
