I had a great day striding at Cabin Creek on Saturday. Temps were probably about 26F. We followed behind the groomer frequently, and the tracks set up immediately. The snow depth is enough that the snow very little dirt could be seen. At our cabin on the top of the pass the snow depth was 3.5 feet.
It was my first ski of the year, so I took some beater skis, but I won't hesitate to take my best gear next time.
The classic tracks were great. Skating would have been fine too, tho the skate lanes seemed a bit narrow at time. Most of the hot skiers were probably at Silver Star - we almost had the place to ourselves.
Summit nordic center will open 12/2 - I'm doing cyclocross bike races both days, but I'm conflicted - ski season is here!
Great conditions at Cabin Creek on 11/25
