Swiss Goodness

Postby Ami in Berlin » Sun Feb 14, 2010 5:05 pm

Alright, I have to confess that I spent my time slaying pow up on the mountain, but my girlfriend took some photos of her time cross country skiing while we were in Andermatt last weekend.

I apologise for the date and time printed on the pics. It's a new camera and we haven't figured out how to get rid of that function yet.

At over 1400 meters, it's a high alpine environment with very few trees. When the weather closes in, it's tough going.

Some pics from our trip to Graubunden over Christmas and New Years. I'll limit it to xc photos.

These photos do a wonderful job of showing off the distinctive scenery of that area. So many pictures of cross-country skiing are essentially the same: trees on the left, trees on the right, sky on the top, snow and ski tracks on the bottom. But these (and the other recent photos from Europe) are extraordinary, and well worth sharing on the Internet for the benefit of those of us who live on a different continent.
