Whattaya think about the following line-up:
*Roadies: groomed wide-trail Skating
*Cyclocross: Technical trail Skiing
*Mt-biking: Backcountry/Telemark
*Downhill Mt-biking: Alpine skiing (both types tend to use chairlifts)
***
I'd think a lotta folks tend to consider Mt-biking to be the parallel with Nordic, but that isn't looking at it fine enough. Like the Birkie and Chequamegon are on a similar course so they're similar. Not so sure!
The pure power straight-ahead style of groomed skiing maybe goes better with Roadies.
I'm thinking the light nimble "underbiking" aspect of CX goes best with technical, skillful Nordic skiing, with both feeling like they aren't relying on much machinery under the athlete.
