TURNAMIC - Rossignol And Fischer Partner To Create New Binding System

Postby Neuro » Wed Dec 21, 2016 4:46 am

https://www.ski-lines.com/articles/2585 ... ing-system

After Salomon and Atomic partnered to create the Prolink binding system last year, Rossignol and Fischer are now joining forces to create a new binding system, called TURNAMIC. The new system will be available in autumn 2017, and will be compatible with the current NNN binding system.

The new bindings will have an easy, step-in, step-out mechanism, titled "Turnlock", and will be adjustable without the use of any tools. Rossignol and Fischer will also start manufacturing new boot soles to go with the system.

Interesting. "Turnlock" is how I'd describe how the Rottefella works though..

Thanks for the information! I went over to Skinörd's Flickr page to see if he had any pictures of the new binding system, but he hadn't.

Everyone has done a good job of not letting it slip out.

I've seen and skied it. It's going to be a great product!

About time there was a better release system than digging up the (usually quite stuck) catch with your fingertips as with the Rottefella.

Have you seen these NNN Xcerator Grab Tabs? I use them on my Rottefella Bindings and they make opening the binding much easier. I also saw them on skis used during a recent FIS World Cup Skiathlon race. They're a little pricy at $15/pair though. I purchased mine from New Moon in Hayward.

I know just what you mean. But the pink matches the color of the sticker on the sole plate of the Rottefella bindings.

After looking at Skinörd's pictures of the Turnamic bindings it seems they are not compatible with NIS; Skinörd mentions that also. Will Fischer and Rossignol make their own mounting plate for the Turnamic binding and abandon NIS?

It appears to be so: http://skitrax.com/fischer-unveils-the- ... c-binding/

Yes

Tough times await Rottefella with most if not all the Fischer and Rossignol ski users switching to Turnamic bindings next season, and those who use also Fischer or Rossignol ski boots will have Turnamic soles on their new boots. Interesting what an expired patent can yield.

Actually the Rossignol sole is not Turnamic.
Fisher will make their own sole as well although their top end boot is still roteffella for next season.
I had a chance to put in a lot of ski time on the binding this week and it's a huge upgrade in classic ski performance. Without the hunk of plastic under foot from the NIS plate the classic ski had a much better kicking flex. I'm really excited about it!

Thanks for the information! However, doesn't Turnamic have a mounting plate similar to the NIS?
