Rossi NIS binding slipping off of Xcelerator add-on plate!

Postby JeffOYB » Wed Feb 01, 2017 5:41 pm

I screwed on some NIS add-on plates onto a couple sets of skis. I used the skaters once, no prob. I just used the ones on classic skis for a mile or so today and twice the bindings slid back on the plates! They are locking in place! How can they do that? Hmm, flex must somehow be getting into the system.

I have one pair of older Fischer RCS Carbonlite Classic skis that does not have an NIS plate. When I switched to an NNN soled boot I put the adapter plate on those skis and added a Rottefella Xcelerator Classic binding. I've never had any problems with the the binding moving or slipping. That includes last years Birkie.

I analyzed.

In my shop I could open the lever and pull the binding back a stop with some firm hand pressure.

I would pull back on the lever and I'd see the tail of the binding arch up and the tab lift out of its notch.

Then the binding would lock in firmly on the second notch back.

Silly binding.
