Rottefella Electric

Postby Magnus Johansson » Fri Mar 24, 2017 12:32 am

What do you think of Rottefella Electric? It is a remote controlled NNN-NIS type of binding that lets you change binding position during skiing without the need to stop. Will it have a market? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdST4veiv-c

Amazing. Electrically remote controlled XC bindings. Who would have thought?

I can see how this would be a great thing, especially with skin skis. I'll wait to hear price and experiences, but definitely something for the wish-list.

I'm super keen on the Rottefella Electric to go with my skin skis as I would like more grip for uphill, but still keep the balance point for downhills. If I can afford it when it comes out in 2019 (?), I'll definitely go for it.

Not sure where the remote will be, but looks like it will clamp onto the pole handle.

In the video below, I believe he says the weight will be equal to the old Rottefella R3 binding which is very good.

Weird to come home after a trip and having to charge your skis.. :-P

Since there are no mention of the Electric on Rottefella's site any more, I sent them a mail to see if the binding was dropped, but they replied it was not, but could not say when it will be out.

My guess is that since their Move System is just being rolled out they are just hiding it so anyone (like me) will buy the Move instead of wait for the Electric.

Disappointing since I was totally set on getting the electric.
