NIS plate for Atomic and Salomon
Rottefella now offers an NIS plate for pre-drilled Atomic and Salomon skis. This plate has the screw hole pattern of SNS and Prolink bindings. Therefore it is with this plate also very easy to convert any old ski with an SNS binding to use NNN-NIS instead: https://www.xxl.se/rottefella-xcelerato ... 69_1_style
Re: NIS plate for Atomic and Salomon
Thanks for the tip! I was about to drill in my new Salomons to put a NIS plate in, so this saves all that. It's cheap too.
Re: NIS plate for Atomic and Salomon
Got it and worked great, but the huge screws were tough to get in the Salomons, almost got a blister from the screwdriver.
I also put silicone grease on the edges on the plate and binding so that the binding might slide easier on the plate as it can be a right PITA to move sometimes, and this seems to help.

Yes, the screws nowadays are very wide. I have just measured a screw for the first generation of NNN2 bindings (those without rails on the heel plate), and it is 10 mm wide across the thread. How wide were the screws you worked into your Salomon skis?
Some lubrication on the rails of NIS plates is a good practice; it doesn't take a lot of dirt before the bindings are very hard to move or take off which is especially so on roller skis.

Not sure, but not as wide as 10mm I don't think. 8 maybe.

I misread the calipers: the old screw is 6 mm wide. I measured a screw for a regular NIS plate, and that one is 6.5 mm. 0.5 mm makes quite a difference in this case.

How was the pre-drilling? Did you get the pivot point on balance point when the binding is in the 0 position? I noticed that the NIS plate for the SNS screw hole pattern has 6 positions instead of 7.
Re: NIS plate for Atomic and Salomon
Right, 6 positions. From the balance point, the binding can be moved 15 mm forward and 20 back.
Compare that to the normal plate with 7 positions or the new Move System which is 18 / 30 mm, it's not really as versatile.

OK, so every notch move the binding circa 7 mm?
