French national championships (rollerski)

Postby trotro » Mon Oct 23, 2017 1:30 am

I was up in the Bauges this weekend and took some footage of the French national rollerski championships on the Feclaz circuit. Martin Forcade shot well but rolled in 11th! This shocked him a bit and there are questions about his preparation. He's never that quick on rollerskis - I don't think he likes them much.

This is from the Men's Sprint. It gives an idea of the circuit which is pretty extensive.

and some nice artistic footage of the two days covering both mens and women's races, it snowed on day 2

Hey that's excellent. Excellent. Keep the coverage coming. As for Forcade being slow, it does seem there's a big difference between snow and rollerski speed. I think there's a talent to making skis glide on snow, but of course if he kicked ass in previous years and he's slow this year, that may be a problem.

Thanks for the video.

I'll have to look at results, I never remember him being a stand-out rollerskier and he seemed to be taking it a bit easy. I've updated the video links with some better coverage.

Nice. Fourcade not being in form I take as a good sign for him when it's all about olympics many months away, and training is still hard now. He's done well on rollerskis in Blinkfestivalen before.
